Having said that, to get the best out of your Green Tea, you should abide by certain guidelines. That is what we will talk about in this piece. Here are the do’s and don’ts of Drinking Green Tea

The Do’s

1)    Choose a good quality tea: When we say Good Quality Tea, we are not talking about the tea brands, but about the tea leaves you are using. Always assure that the tea you are buying is Whole-Leaf Tea & not a mixture of dust tea, or fannings with some leaves. That would enable you to reap the maximum benefits.

2)    Have it by boiling it at an appropriate temperature: It is always advisable to have your Green Tea at an appropriate Temperature. If you are using an Electric Kettle, do not overboil the tea you are consuming at more than 80 degrees C.

3)    Put in the Tea Bag First: A common mistake that people make while preparing Green Tea using Tea Bags is that they add the water first, then dip the Tea Bag. However, to get the most out of your tea bags, always put it in your cup first, & then add water to it. While we are at it, if you do not want to lose out on benefits & get a perfect taste, prefer Pyramid Tea Bags & not the regular ones.

4)    Use bottled, mineral or filtered water: When preparing a perfect cup of Green Tea, it is better to use either of these water & not regular tap water. Additionally, drink green tea in lukewarm or warm water for the best results.

5)    Have 3-4 cups of Green Tea every day: Having a cup of Green Tea to derive health benefits like weight loss, clear skin etc.? Well, in that case, have at least 3-4 cups of Green Tea to get all the health benefits out of it.

The Don’ts

1)    Do not drink it when it is too hot: A cup of hot green tea won’t just make your tea tasteless, but can also cause damage to your stomach & throat. Do note that overboiling does not help the tea to retain more nutrients. As suggested above, it is best to prepare green tea in lukewarm or warm water.

2)    Don’t have it immediately after a meal: Contrary to popular belief, having a cup of green tea immediately after a meal does not burn extra calories. Instead, if you consume it at that time it can upset your stomach & cause digestive issues.

3)    Don’t let it sit for too long: If you let the green tea leaves sit longer in the water, they won’t retain more nutrients. Instead, what you will get is a more bitter tea with lesser nutrients.

4)    Don’t try artificially added flavours: Considering trying green tea artificial added flavours? Well, it’s a big no-no. Do not let the shopkeepers give you sub-standard Tea just because they are cheaper. If you are willing to try Flavoured Green Tea, always go for the ones with 100% Natural Flavourings. That will not just enable you to get the most benefits of green tea, but also the health benefits of the ingredients. Give this Assorted Green Tea Collection a try, if you are looking for Green Tea with 100% Natural Flavourings. The box contains 3 pyramid tea bags each of 8 different green tea flavours,

5)    Don’t take your medicines with Green Tea: When we say Green Tea is beneficial for health, we are talking just about the tea. However, some people assume that since Green Tea is a healthy drink, they can have their medicines with Green Tea. You should never do this. Instead, have the medicines the way it has been prescribed by the doctor.
